About the participant

Josh Trett is the Managing Director of Trett Films – a video production company based in Norwich. The Trett Films team works with businesses up and down the country and in Europe, to produce TV commercials, corporate videos, and a lot of cinematic and emotive content for use online.

Josh was a participant of our first Creative East cohort in Norfolk, and had this to say about the programme…

Why did you sign up for Creative East?

“I signed up because I had learned that businesses similar to mine in the region were signing up for it. And I was interested in how a business like mine could shape up for investment.

The business had been going for four years at that point, and I was wondering what the next step would look like for a business like Trett Films, but also how realistic those goals and dreams were at that time.

How did Creative East help you?

So Creative East helped us realise that the stuff we wanted to achieve was actually realistic and gave us the confidence to know that our goals weren’t out of our reach. But it also gave us the knowledge through the mentors and the different workshops to take that next step.

My favourite thing about the programme was the access to the mentors – professionals working in the industry that we’re trying to succeed in. But, also, there’s a social element; every week you get to meet with the same people and get to know the characters behind these businesses.

Thanks to Creative East I’m now taking the first step on producing a feature film and this isn’t something I would have been achieving, at least at this point without the team at Creative East and the mentors on the programme.”
