Luke Billing is the Founder of Meantime Media Ltd – a creative video production studio company based in Norwich. Their team consists of directors, producers, filmmakers, editors, illustrators and animators with a diverse range of creative talents and specialities.

Luke was a participant of our first Creative East cohort in Norfolk and had this to say about the programme…

Why did you sign up for Creative East?

“I signed up to Creative East because, as a sole business owner, I had a lot of questions regarding business, the economy, where I wanted to take things, and I thought they could answer those questions for me.
What were your biggest challenges or uncertainties in your business at the time?

At the time, we were repositioning our company and exploring new avenues. And I thought Creative East had a really strong list of mentors that could help us along those roads.

In what way has the programme set you up for future business growth?

Creative East has helped us with our strategic positioning on the market, as well as with having the contacts and the information to help us move towards our own intellectual property.

What was your favourite thing about the programme?

My favourite thing about the programme has been the collaboration between businesses that have come from it. I’ve learnt more about other people’s businesses in the area and more about the challenges faced by the creative sector just by talking to the people in that room.

What would you say to other business owners considering signing up for Creative East?

I would highly recommend signing up to Creative East. What I would say is it’s a large time commitment, and businesses should go in knowing what parts of the course are going to be really relevant to them and focus their time and capacity on that.

Thanks to Creative East, we are now running internal pitches on intellectual property, and it’s given us the confidence to know that we have the right setup to go forward in that area.”
